What is the difference between scrambled eggs and an omelette?
Eggs can be considered a healthy and delicious food that can be used to prepare many delicious meals. Among the delicious foods that can be made with eggs, omelets and scrambled eggs are two common foods that can be found in every corner of the world. Although omelets and scrambled eggs look similar, there are some differences between them.
Scrambled eggs are basically eggs that are stirred when cooked. But the omelette has some other ingredients included in it. This is the most important difference between eggs and omelettes. Although the process of cooking scrambled eggs is easier than cooking an omelet, some culinary hobbyists end up with scrambled eggs when they try to make an omelet. The omelette contains some other food ingredients to make it delicious. It is often turned over like a pancake to add more color. Scrambled eggs totally lose it and the omelet is where all the eggs come together along with your favorite toppings.
The process of cooking omelettes and scrambled eggs is slightly different from each other. People usually use egg beaters when preparing an omelet. These beaters help a lot to avoid beating eggs into oblivion. Water is added during the cooking process to add more flavor and real heat is provided for better cooking. Add one or two eggs to the dish over medium heat and add the other eggs to the center after a while. Other ingredients also called as topping are added when the eggs are in their liquid state. Then they will fit into the eggs and the consumer will get the opportunity to eat them with minimal hassle. Once the liquid form is gone, the omelet is folded over and kept on the plate. Then the omelette is placed on the plate and heated until brown.
When it comes to scrambled eggs, the process is a little different. After all the eggs are beaten, a little whole milk or cream is added to make it even more delicious. Some basic ingredients including salt are added using a fork. The mixture is then poured into a hot pan with some butter or oil. Then it is heated till it becomes brown under gentle heat.
As you can see, the process of cooking eggs is even easier than cooking an omelet. These cooking methods vary slightly from country to country. Scrambled eggs can be considered as a quick meal because it only takes a few minutes. But for people who need more savory food with a few extras, omelettes are great. Eggs don’t have the delicious stuff in them like peppers, ham, and other goodies. But for an omelet, you can add whatever you like and make a delicious treat.
